Fine art Pori Art Museum is the museum with regional responsibility in Satakunta. As per the Section 7 of the Museums Act (314/2019), its responsibility is to act as an authority on artistic and visual cultural heritage and to develop and promote cooperation in its field as well as the documenting of artistic and visual cultural heritage and the digital accessibility thereof. Pori Art Museum does this by facilitating encounters with regional artists and the public, documenting the work of artists, and increasing available online information on these artists. Pori Art Museum provides consultation to the public and regional communities and museums in charge of art collections in the region. In addition, as a museum with regional responsibility, it strives to develop regional art-related networks.
