HANNA MARNO’S MUSHROOM DYEING COURSE
A mushroom dyeing course in Siikainen, Satakunta held by artist Hanna Marno.
On Saturday 5th of October there is an opportunity to join a mushroom dyeing course in Siikainen, Satakunta held by artist Hanna Marno, whose sculpture work Édouard the Velvet Foot is mounted on the Art Square in Pori until the end of September as a part of Pori Art Museum’s new KORSI-commissions programme.
The event in Siikainen will last from noon until 5pm (12-17) and it is held free of charge, including offer of coffee and some small refreshments. The day will start with a joint trip to gather mushrooms in the near by forest and participants are required to bring their own baskets or other instruments that are fitting to gather mushrooms. Weather appropriate clothing is recommended. The actual course will be held at Hanna Marno’s workspace, where after a coffee break Marno will show how mushrooms can be used to make mushroom paint, that can be used in versatile ways as a varnish, coating and in dying for instance yarn.
The course is open for all ages, but it is necessary to note that there will be inedible mushrooms as well as toxic solvents used. Small children are advised to come with adults.
